Concept:

 

Artificial Digitality is an abstract music album, narrating how the world has been changing with the advent of Artificial Intelligence.  Each composition in the album expresses the world of that period of time.

As a self-taught musician and composer, my collaborator is a neural network of my own design. The network replicates and plays off my own musical passions. Artificial Digitality is an evening-length piece created through machine learning. The content of the suite draws inspiration from the story of the development of artificial intelligence to date.

 

Artificial Digitality begins with a composition that is authored by me alone without assistance from artificial intelligence. Sections that follow are co-authored by the network and me. The album concludes with a composition that is completely generated by the machine.

 

The work speculates on the future of machine learning and the possible ways in which it will join and perhaps overtake humans in intelligence and ability. In the end, my work is a rumination on the future of work in all fields, including creative production.

Step 1:

Composing the 1st track.

The keys/notes to be played with is confined to two octaves in C Natural Minor Scale. (15 notes in total).

 

 

 

Step 3:

Name of each composition derives itself from the different period of time, that the composition is describing:

1) The world before centuries, where necessity began to fuel inventions. 

2) The current modern world, where we are exploring the unknown driven by curiosity. But as it has positive and negative both impacts, it becomes a funny trouble.

3) How will you define the future world, where machines and algorithms have taken over humans? Or will we even be in a position to define anything?
